RECENT OUTINGS

These are examples of the types of activities we do ...

October 2007 - Gettysburg

Our own Mr. Larrick, a Civil War buff, took our Troop on a detailed

two day tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield

 

 

November 2007 - Backpacking

Backpacking  - Wildcat Hollow

 

January 2008 -  Winter Hike - Bushwhack

We stayed at Camp Hugh Taylor Birch near Yellow Springs OH,

then hiked through Clifton Gorge.  We ran an orienteering course.

Two of our older scouts demonstrated Dutch Oven cooking.

 

 

February 2008  - Ski Trip

We skiied Mad River Mountain, then overnighted at Camp Kirkmont

 

 

April 2008 - Shooting

We sharpened our rifle skills during a two night campout in the Pines at Camp Falling Rock

 

 

 

 

June 2008 - Cycling

We camped at Buck Creek State Park and rode loops of up to 50

miles in search of the Cycling Merit Badge.

 

BSA Northern Tier National High Adventure Base.  We sent a 7

man crew and an  8 man crew on a week-long canoe trip into   

the wilderness.  We crossed  the  Canadian Border by Canoe,    

portaging from lake to lake.                                                               

 

July 2008  - Summer Camp

We attended Summer Camp at Camp Falling Rock in Newark, OH .

Many scouts advanced in rank and we earned 148 merit badges

during the week!

 

 

 August 2008  - Canoeing

We camped near Lebanon, OH, then canoed the Little Miami River.

 

 

September 2008  - Fishing Trip

We camped at East Harbor State Park.  On Saturday, we boarded a

fishing boat, then went out on Lake Erie for the day.

 

 

October 2008 - Peterloon

We attended the Peterloon Camporee, along with 5000 other

scouts at BSA Camp Friedlander, near Cincinnati, OH.

 

 

November 2008 - District Camporee

We attended the Delaware District camporee at Camp Otter Run

(nearBellefontaine, OH).  The theme was Emergency Preparedness

and therewere presentations by emergency and Law Enforcement

agencies.

 

 

December 2008

Planning Retreat - Our senior scouts went away to the Hocking

Hills and planned both our meeting and outdoor program for the

coming year.

 

Vertical Adventures - Indoor wall climbing

 

 

January 2009 - Winter Hike

We stayed at Camp Hugh Taylor Birch (near Yellow Springs OH).

We worked on our First Aid skills, then hiked Clifton Gorge.

 

 

February 2009 - Ski Trip

We skiied and snowboarded Mad River Mountain, then overnighted at Camp Kirkmont
